Our advice

TO ORGANIZE YOUR STORAGE BOX

When packing, place the heaviest items at the bottom of the boxes to create a stable base.
Opt for plastic crates rather than cardboard boxes. Transparent plastic crates allow you to easily identify the contents. They are also easy to stack and won’t deform under the weight of other crates.
Categorize: Group items by category (clothes, books, tools, etc.) to make finding things in your storage unit easier.
Clearly label: Clearly indicate the contents of each box.
Disassemble items that can be taken apart. Store screws and other small parts in labeled bags to avoid losing them.
Use vacuum storage bags to reduce volume and protect your clothes from moisture, insects, and dust. Vacuum bags are especially useful for bulky items like winter coats or comforters.

When stacking your boxes in your storage unit, place the heaviest boxes at the bottom and the lightest boxes or items at the top.
Avoid leaning your belongings against the walls. This can warp the metal walls and prevent proper air circulation within the unit.
Do not place moisture-sensitive items in direct contact with the floor.
Leave appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, and dishwashers slightly ajar to prevent mold growth.
Do not store damp items. Dry your ski equipment before storing it in your unit.
Detailed inventory: Make a precise list of everything you are storing, noting the contents of each box and its location in the unit.
Remember to protect your fragile items, such as mattresses and sofas, with a cover or tarp.

Our advice

TO OPTIMIZE YOUR STORAGE BOX SPACE

  • Use the full height of your storage unit: bed frames, mattresses, and sofas can be stored vertically (remember to protect the edges that will be in contact with the floor).
  • Keep items you use frequently at the front of your storage unit.
  • Make sure to clear a path down the center of your storage unit for easy access to all your belongings.
  • Using shelves is a great way to optimize and organize your storage unit space.
  • Consider storing small items like books or CDs inside an appliance, such as a refrigerator.
  • Store your boxes both above AND below tables.
